Symptom: circ pump cycling on/off in about 10 sec intervals. Only way to get spa (d-1 Interlude circa. year 2000) to heat was full jets. Replaced old circ pump (only 4 yrs old) with this identical one and all is good! Was hoping to show some pics - but alas, this review doesn't allow them. Took old pump apart to find that pump fins are actually part of the motor itself. They are connected to a 'hemispherical' dome that apparently has a permanent magnet. This fits into a bowl-like depression on the pump motor (stator?). There were wear marks on the dome part (pump rotor) so it appears that it would turn, stick, stop, start and turn, stick, stop, etc. It seems that water provides the 'bearing' lubrication between the dome and the bowl of the pump - so that is why it is critical to purge the pump of air when re-filling your spa! Sorry if this doesn't make sense without the pics! But new circ pump gives JOY! (and shipping was very fast! Thanks!) Hopefully I'll a forum in which to post the pics!
