Replacing a VCR Jet Back

The VCR jet was introduced by Dimension One Spas in 1998-99. In some spas manufactured during 2000-01, you may occasionally find jet assemblies on the floor of your spa. There is no need to replace the whole jet, just the funnel shaped jet back. (The Spinning Mini Jet cannot be repaired, and must be replaced.) Here's how it's done.

  • This is what a completed VCR Jet Assembly looks like from the backside.

  • STEP 1: For this instruction sheet we are using an Adjustable Nozzle VCR Jet (01510-418). For spinning jets, and the smaller mini jet series, many of the steps are the same. You should be able to use this instruction sheet for all the jets, regardless of design. Just skip the steps that are not appropriate for the jet you are repairing.

  • STEP 2: Slide the jet nozzle into the cage's matching slot.

  • STEP 3: Slide front assembly into jet back. Don't be afraid to "muscle" this in if necessary.

  • STEP 4: Here is a picture of the jet front inserted into back "funnel".

  • STEP 5: Match the jet front "Handle" and jet back. Note: the two pieces are "notched" so they will only fit together one way.

  • STEP 6: Push both pieces together.

  • STEP 7:Push the four tabs into place. Sometimes you can actually hear a "click" when this happens.

  • STEP 8: Use large channel locks if necessary to snap the tabs in place.

  • STEP 9: Completed assembly.

  • Maintenance Tip:

For jets that seem to stick and do not operate properly, soak them in a solution of 50% water and 50% white vinegar from the kitchen. Soak for about two hours, and it will remove the calcium and dirt, often returning the jet to "like new" condition.
