Spa Flush Instructions

With Spa Flush it's easy to clean out your pipes. Using natural enzymes, Spa Flush removes the biofilm and flotsam that can build up inside the plumbing of your spa. To keep everything as clean as possible, we recommend you use Spa Flush once every 12-24 months.

Using Spa Flush is a 2-day process so you’ll want to start 1 day before you plan to drain and refill your spa.

Here’s the drill:

  • 1. Remove the filter(s) from your spa and set them aside. We'll rinse them later.

  • 2. With the jet pumps running on high speed, slowly pour a complete bottle of Spa Flush into the swirling water. Don't empty it out in one spot- walk around your spa, emptying the bottle as you go.

  • 3. Within a few minutes the spa will fill with foam. This is good! Now’s the time to close the spa cover.

  • 4. The foam will overflow and run down the spa cabinet. This is also good! It means everything is working. Keep a hose handy and rinse the foam off the sides of the spa to prevent residue from building. The foaming action will continue for about 15-20 minutes. Don't worry, Spa Flush is a natural enzyme and won't hurt your spa, spa cover or plants.

  • 5. Set the control panel to the maximum circulation cycles or just turn the pumps on whenever you think about it. Take note, the more the water circulates, the better. Keep this going until tomorrow. By then the foam will be gone and the spa will be ready to drain. This is a good time to rinse the filters you set aside in Step 2. Re-install them tomorrow when you refill the spa.

  • 6. On the second day of the process, drain, clean and refill your hot tub. Re-install your clean filters. When you start your spa again, you can rest easy knowing it's been cleaned naturally, inside and out.

  • One final note: On very rare occasions after using Spa Flush, some flotsam in the plumbing may still blow out into the water the first time you start the pumps. If that happens, it will likely be filtered out in the first few hours. If not, you'll have to drain and re-fill your tub again. Be sure to re-rinse the filters if this happens.
