Fix-A-Leak Instructions

 

Fix-A-Leak:

We have found that the following instructions have worked well, (often better), than the ones listed on the bottle. There is no guarantee that Fix-A-Leak will solve the problem, but with a small leak of around 1” per week, it’s the easiest and cheapest thing to try first. Sometimes the leak stays fixed for months, years, or forever; there is just no way to predict. We’ll keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

  1. Turn heater temperature to about 60 degrees.
  2. Remove filter(s).
  3. Turn jet pump(s) on high speed.
  4. Locate filter canister that is dawing water at fatest rate.
  5. Shake the bottle of Fix-A-Leak well.
  6. Slowly pour entire contents into that canister. It’s pretty thick, so take your time. (This may take up to 45 seconds).
  7. With spa cover closed, run jet pump(s) for about 2 hours.
  8. Your spa normally filters the water twice a day. When you think about it, run the jet pump(s) an additional 2-3 times per day for 7 days. (If your upper control panel is programmable, set to 4 cycles per day, at 180 minutes each).
  9. Drain spa. Clean shell.
  10. Let the spa sit empty and “cure” for up to 7 more days.
  11. Re-fill spa, re-install filter(s), and raise heat back to desired temperature. Use as you normally would.
