
On some models, the 01560-76 Temperature Sensor is imbedded in foam and cannot be reached for replacement. A Sensor Tee Assembly must be installed leading into the circulation pump. This way a new sensor can be installed in a more accessible place. The job is easier than it looks if you follow these instructions. Your design may vary a bit so use your creativity to complete the task.

The 01560-76 Assembly consists of the Temperature Sensor, (top), High Limit Sensor, (bottom), and the 4-pin connector, (middle).

The installed sensor barb tee will look something like this.
1. Turn off power to the spa at the GFCI.
2. Drain the spa.
3. Remove the front cabinet panel so you can see the pumps and other equipment.
4. Remove the front panel on the equipment box so you can see the main circuit board.

5. Look at the wiring diagram on the back of the
panel. Use the wiring diagram to locate the
Temperature/Hi-Limit Sensor Connector. Now
unplug the connector from the main circuit
board.

6. Remove the Hi-Limit Sensor from beneath the
heater sleeve.

7. Loosen the hose clamp screws at either end of
the hose leading into the middle of the circulation
pump.

8. Cut the clear hose where it is attached to the
1/2” flex hose. Allow the water to completely
drain from this hose before proceeding.

9. Cut an adequate length of 1” clear hose to run
from the circulation pump to the end of the
sensor tee barb. Slide one end onto the middle
port of the circulation pump and tighten the
hose clamp screw to hold it in place. (See the
photo in step 11 for a better idea of what you
are trying to accomplish).

10. Apply PVC cement to the end of the 1/2” flex
hose and inside of the slip side of sensor tee.
11. Slide the sensor tee onto the hose and allow it
to dry. Now put some PVC cement on the
barbed end of the sensor tee.

12. Slide the other end of the hose onto the glued
barb and tighten the hose clamp screw to hold
it in place.
13. Wrap Teflon tape around the rubber compression bushing threads and screw it about
1/2 way into
the sensor tee fitting.
14. Apply a thin layer of silicone onto the temperature
sensor to act as a lubricant.

15. Insert the sensor into the compression fitting.
Push until the sensor is even with the top of
the fitting. Continue threading the compression
fitting into the sensor tee until it is snugly in
place. Apply a dab of silicone as pictured
above to seal the sensor/fitting joint.

16. Here is what your assembly should look like.
Now you can remove and discard the old Temperature/
Hi-Limit Sensor Assembly from the
spa.

17. Feed the sensor connector into the lower control
can and plug it back onto the main circuit
board.

18. Insert the new Hi-Limit Sensor under the
heater sleeve.
19. Replace the front panel on the lower control can.
20. Refill the spa.
21. Turn on power to the spa at the GFCI.
22. After the circulation pump is operating, check for any leaks in your new assembly. Reinstall the main cabinet panel after everything is running properly.
